The Best Trends Seen On and Off The Runway This Fashion Week

We’re all excited to shed our winter coats and sport our summer gear, but the fashion world is already looking six months ahead. The runways of New York, Paris, London, and Milan once more dazzled with the trend we will all be scrambling for in the fall. Here are some of the best moments from this season:

1. Dolce and Gabbana’s Millennial Spotlight

In typical fashion, Dolce and Gabbana changed up their models with media influencers from all ages, races, and shapes. The show still encompassed the fall aesthetic of our dreams:  jewel tones, lace, plush velvet, and powerful florals.

2. The bigger the better

A store sold out of your size? Rock one a size up! The pre-fall runways topped off their fall outfits with oversized trenches, bombers, and furs. Runways like Chloé sported chunky knits and billowing dresses. The key to mastering this trend is to balance out your bigger pieces with something slimmer.

3. Off the Shoulder

We’ve been obsessing over the off-the shoulder trend for months now, and it doesn’t look like we’ll be stopping anytime soon. Bare shoulders popped up on and off the runways. Confused on how to make this work for fall? Try off-the-shoulder sweaters! Make sure to invest in a strapless bra because this trend is here to stay.

4. Embellishment

Classic pieces like the Mary Jane heel stepped onto the runway this season but with a major twist; designers piled on the embellishment. Move over jewelry because these pieces are a statement on their own. Runways like Ellie Saab and Marchesa sparkled among the typical muted pieces of the fall collections. If you’re afraid to rock a bejewelled shirt, try incorporating it in your accessories.
