The 10 Minute Beauty Routine When You Hit Snooze Twice

By: Jenna Cooper –

The harassing sound of your alarm goes off for the third time this morning and you can’t help yourself from hitting that snooze. The alarm disturbs your slumber yet again and you peek at the time, just to see if you could squeeze another precious five minutes in. Panic sets in; it’s 8:20 and class starts in 10 minutes. How are you supposed to look your best in such a short amount of time?

Beauty sleepers, don’t be afraid to hit that snooze button a few times in the morning, because we have the tips to get you looking like your best self in no time.

First things first, hair. It’s likely that you won’t have time to wash your hair in the 10 minutes you have to get ready, but if you can, you deserve a gold medal. One simple cheat to bombshell hair is dry shampoo (we love Batiste). Spray it in the roots, rub it in and you’re good to go. This will dry up any oil you have while giving you the volume you need.

Pro tip: Flip your head upside down when you spray and shake your hair for increased volume and effortless lift!

Next, let’s get that skin glowing. We will only say three words: moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize.  We highly recommend a moisturizer with SPF, like Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, which has SPF 15 and is fragrance free.

An eye cream will also help get rid of bags and dark circles, making you look refreshed and ready to take on the day — or sit through three lectures. Mario Badescu’s Hyaluronic Eye Cream perks up the face, moisturizes the skin, and helps with wrinkles.

If you don’t wear makeup, you can stop here. But if your morning look isn’t as flawless, we have a few products that will bring out your inner Beyonce. First, conceal. We love Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. It’s inexpensive and your dark circles will be completely gone; just swipe a little under your eyes, dab it in with your ring finger and finish it off with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to keep it in place all day. You can also conceal any blemishes you have and brush translucent powder on your face to get a flawless matte finish.

After creating your flawless foundation, the Too Faced Natural Eyes Eye Shadow is great for bringing some drama to the eyes. Start out with a light color on the inner and middle part of your lid and a darker color on the outer corner to give your eyes dimension. The, finish it off with mascara. If you’re a fan of volume and length for your lashes, L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise™ Mascara is the mascara for you.

Many people feel their face isn’t complete without perfecting their brows, so for a quick brow, use a gel like Benefit Cosmetics: Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel. It’s just like mascara and you can just brush it through your brows and make them as delicate or bold as you like.

If you have a few spare minutes, and want to be sculpted to the gods, we recommend the Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette. It has four gorgeous highlighters and two chocolatey bronzers in one palette. Lightly brush the highlighter on the high points of your cheeks and sculpt your perfect cheekbone by blending some bronzer in the hollows of your cheeks. A little definitely goes a long way.

Lastly, if you know that you’re a snoozer, try and plan ahead the night before. Lay your outfit out on a chair or desk before going to bed and get your makeup products out so you’ll have everything you need in front of you. Planning for the day and making sure you’re prepared for the unexpected takes up the most amount of time in the morning.
